Position details
The Global Markets Engineering Office (GMEO) is responsible for the research, development, investigation, and analysis of models, calculation methodologies, and related systems that support the activities under its remit. GMEO plays a key role in developing quantitative models and engineering solutions used across Global Markets, covering a wide range of asset classes and regulatory requirements.
Main purpose of the role
The role is responsible for the development, analysis, and testing of pricing models and related systems used in Global Markets.
The position covers multiple asset classes, including interest rates, foreign exchange, commodities, and involves close collaboration with global quantitative, risk, and technology teams.
The role also contributes to the design of robust tools and systems supporting pricing and risk management.
Roles And Responsibilities
Development, analysis and testing of pricing models and related systems using C++, C#, Excel VBA, Python, and similar tools, covering multiple asset classes, including interest rates, foreign exchange, commodities, and other derivatives products.
Testing, analysis, and implementation or regulatory calculations such as Initial Margin (SIMM), xVA, etc.
Preparation and maintenance of documentation related to pricing models and their methodologies.
Development and enhancement of tools and systems supporting pricing models and regulatory-related calculations.
Close collaboration and communication with quants, risk management, and related teams located in Tokyo, London, and New York.
Job Requirements
3+ years Practical experience in quantitative modelling (pricing model development or validation), or in system and tool development related to at least one of the following areas but not limited to:Derivatives pricing tools or related systemsDerivatives pricing models (e.g. interest rates, foreign exchange, commodities)Initial margin calculations (SIMM)Counterparty risk models (xVA)EssentialStrong programming skills and hands-on experience with C++, C#, or equivalent languages.
Good understanding of financial products, particularly derivatives.
Solid knowledge of simulation techniques and numerical methods.
Good foundation in mathematics and stochastic calculus applied to finance.
Beneficial
Experience using version control systems such as GitHub.
Familiarity with C++ or C# testing frameworks for unit and integration testing.
Experience with multiprocessing, parallelization, grid computing, or similar technologies.
Exposure to development using generative AI tools (e.g.
GitHub Copilot).
EducationAn advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a STEM discipline such as mathematical finance, engineering, computer science, computational physics, machine learning, or a related field.
