Job description

As a Quant Analyst at our company, you will be responsible for developing and validating models to estimate power demand, generation, and nodal prices. You will collaborate directly with traders to apply engineering techniques for optimizing portfolio construction. It is essential for you to familiarize yourself with energy markets and apply innovative quantitative techniques. Additionally, you will work closely with the risk management team to measure, analyze, and mitigate risk in our power trading business. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the nodal trading team to develop, manage, and extend quantitative models for nodal power markets. • Conduct statistical analysis of electricity nodal market price and demand data, including building statistical load/generation models using Time Series and Regression-based techniques. • Utilize financial engineering techniques/models to enhance and optimize portfolio construction. • Develop metrics for measuring market attributes and produce reports to quantify market behavior. • Apply data mining techniques to identify signals in semi-structured data sets. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or Statistics. • Experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting analytical libraries and pricing models. • Proficiency in programming with Python and SQL databases. • Knowledge of statistical principles and probability in Finance. • Familiarity with optimization techniques and statistical learning methods. • Commercial acumen to comprehend the Energy Markets. • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to perform effectively under pressure. • Team player with a strong desire to contribute in a collaborative environment. Experience: - 2-4 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
