Role Overview:
Credit & Client Risk Management (CCR) is an integral part of the CCIB.
The CCR mandate is to deliver best in class credit analysis, monitoring, and credit administration work to stakeholders.
As a Credit Analyst in this team, you will be responsible for conducting a thorough credit assessment of the counterparty's credit profile, proposing internal corporate ratings, assessing sustainability & environmental risks, fraud risk analysis, and reputational risks.
Your role will also involve continuous monitoring of credit profiles and operational risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a thorough credit assessment of counterparty's credit profile, propose internal corporate ratings, assess sustainability & environmental risks, fraud risk analysis, and reputational risks.
Submit written recommendations for approvals to the credit risk department.
• Support the CCIB Client Coverage team for Credit Analysis and other Client Risk activities.
• Evaluate the financial performance of corporate clients by understanding and spreading financial statements, analyzing economic conditions and industry trends, comparing counterparty performance relative to peers, client strategy, and management assessment.
• Input financial and economic data in the rating system and ensure the accuracy of internal risk ratings.
• Collaborate with onshore Analysts and credit officers to evaluate risk and monitor a client portfolio.
• Research, write, and present financial & industry analysis impacting credit decisions.
Analyze and spread financial statements through a credit lens.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives, mentor new team members, and support team management tasks.
• Lead by example, build the appropriate culture and values in the team, and set expectations from the team.
• Apply sound judgment, drive initiatives independently, and collaborate with team resources effectively.
• Display exemplary conduct, adhere to regulatory and business conduct standards, and escalate risk and compliance matters.
• Develop advanced conceptual knowledge on accounting fundamentals, financial products, rating methodologies, and utilize Bloomberg and Reuters for functional knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Business/Finance/Accounting or qualified certifications such as CA/CFA/CPA or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in credit analysis and credit support roles in the CCIB or Global Banking Sector (minimum of 6 years).
• Knowledge of banking products, associated risks, and relevant certifications or qualifications are not mandatory if proven track record and experience in similar roles in other financial institutions or credit rating organizations.
