About The Opportunity Role: Mergers and Acquisitions Level: Deputy Manager Reporting To: Associate Vice President • Investor Relations Location: Gurgaon About The Function The Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) function at MakeMyTrip serves as a strategic growth driver by identifying, evaluating, and executing investment, acquisition, and partnership opportunities that align with the company’s long-term vision. The team conducts market scanning, sector research, financial modeling, valuation analysis, and due diligence to assess strategic fit and financial viability, while collaborating closely with business, finance, legal, and leadership stakeholders to structure and execute transactions. Post-transaction, the M&A function supports integration and monitors portfolio performance to ensure sustainable value creation and disciplined capital al location. About The Role The role within the M&A function involves driving end-to-end investment evaluation and execution by conducting market research, identifying potential acquisition or investment targets, building detailed financial models, and preparing investment memorandums for leadership review. It includes supporting due diligence, valuation analysis, deal structuring, and transaction execution while collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess strategic fit and risks. The role also extends to post-investment monitoring, working closely with portfolio companies and internal stakeholders to track performance and ensure long-term value creation aligned with the organization’s growth strategy. What Will You Be Doing Conduct market scanning to identify potential domestic and international investment/acquisition opportunities. Perform in-depth sector research, including value drivers, risks, competitive landscape, global benchmarks, and valuation multiples. Drive deal origination by building strong relationships across the startup and investor ecosystem (entrepreneurs, VCs, bankers, incubators, accelerators). Build financial models and prepare Investment Committee notes and investment memorandums. Support the full investment lifecycle — sourcing, valuation, due diligence, deal structuring, execution, and integration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate strategic fit, financial viability, and transaction risks, and present recommendations to leadership. Monitor post-investment performance and work closely with portfolio companies to drive value creation. Partner with leadership to refine organizational strategy and evaluate organic and inorganic growth opportunities. Conduct competitive benchmarking and ongoing market intelligence analysis. Qualification & Experience MBA / CA / CFA with 5–6 years of experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, or transaction advisory roles. Strong expertise in financial modeling, valuation (DCF, comparable multiples, transaction comps), and due diligence processes. Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to build detailed financial models and create high-quality Investment Committee presentations. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating with leadership, external advisors, and cross-functional teams during deal execution.
