As an Analyst in the Market Risk team at Morgan Stanley, you will have the opportunity to play a crucial role in ensuring data quality checks across trades, risk measures, and market data.
Your responsibilities will include independently investigating data quality issues, performing root cause analysis, and collaborating with data providers for effective resolution.
Furthermore, you will be expected to contribute to the accurate and timely production of market risk metrics daily, analyze the impact of market data changes, and identify potential inconsistencies in market risk metrics.
Collaboration with Risk managers and technology teams will be essential to improve data-related controls and processes, implement data-related strategic programs, and automate manual processes where possible.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform data quality checks across trades, risk measures, and market data.
• Independently investigate data quality issues and provide effective resolution.
• Collaborate with data providers for timely issue resolution.
• Ensure accurate and timely production of market risk metrics.
• Analyze the impact of market data changes on risk measures.
• Identify potential inconsistences or movements in market risk metrics.
• Collaborate with Risk managers and technology teams to improve data-related controls and processes.
• Contribute to automations of manual processes.
**Qualifications/Skills Required:**
- Minimum of 0-2 years of Market Risk middle office experience.
• Good understanding of risk management concepts and financial products.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Advanced Excel, VBA programming, and SQL.
Knowledge of Python is an added advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Finance is a plus.
