Primary Purpose
This role has responsibilities from pre-close due diligence through post close integration and stabilization for assigned M&A transactions.
The M&A Line of Business (LoB) Systems Specialist is responsible for assessing, integrating, and stabilizing business critical applications during mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
This role focuses on non-ERP enterprise systems that directly support functional areas such as Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, HR, and Customer Service.
The specialist partners with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure Day 1 readiness, minimize operational disruption, and enable post close integration and synergy realization.
Major Responsibilities
M&A Due Diligence & Application Assessment
Participate in IT and application due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures
Inventory and assess target company line of business applications, including:
oCRM, CPQ, PLM, MES, WMS, HCM, Service Management, and other functional systems
Evaluate system health, customizations, integrations, licensing, and vendor dependencies
Identify application related risks, technical debt, and integration or separation complexity
Provide input into effort estimates, costs, timelines, and integration feasibility
Day 1 Readiness & Business Continuity
Support definition of Day 1 application operating models (standalone, TSA supported, or parent system access)
Ensure continuity of critical business processes
Assist with access provisioning, role alignment, and security updates required at close
Support interim reporting and data sharing solutions where full integration is deferred
Application Integration & Separation Execution
Support or lead post close integration of business systems into parent company platforms
Execute or coordinate
oData migrations (customers, products, work orders, users, configurations)
oApplication configuration alignment to corporate standards oInterface and integration updates with ERP and other enterprise systems
•Support divestiture carve outs by enabling system separation, data extraction, and transition support
•Participate in cutover planning, testing, go live, and stabilization activities
Data, Reporting & Controls
•Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across integrated systems
•Support functional and management reporting needs tied to business applications
•Align systems with internal controls, audit requirements, and data privacy policies
•Assist in documenting application controls and evidence for audits as required
Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination
•Act as a liaison between business function leaders, IT teams, and external vendors
•Translate business requirements into application integration or configuration actions
•Coordinate with system integrators, SaaS providers, and third party support partners
•Track application related milestones, risks, and dependencies within the M&A integration plan
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
•Document application architectures, configurations, integrations, and changes
•Support knowledge transfer to steady state application owners and support teams
Contribute to standard M&A application integration playbooks, templates, and best practices
Work Experience
•37 years of experience supporting line of business applications (e.g., CRM, MES, PLM, WMS, HCM)
•Prior experience working on M&A integrations and/or standing up production facilities Experience supporting system integrations, data migrations, or major application changes
•Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, product owners, and external consultants to recommend solutions
•Experience with gathering requirements and enforcing best practices.
•Prior experience working with IT technical solution implementations.
•Experience in writing stories in an agile tool such as Jira or DevOps
•Experience with defining project timelines
•Experience with resource time and availability
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
•Strong understanding of how business processes are enabled by enterprise applications
•Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a
