Job description
As a Portfolio Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will have the opportunity to support cross-functional programs that contribute to making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
Your role will involve being an accountable executive leader for an assigned portfolio, overseeing strategy, investment planning, delivery performance, financial outcomes, value realization, and savings commitments.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Translate business strategy into executable investment roadmaps with clear sequencing, value drivers, and dependency management.
• Lead quarterly strategic portfolio reviews with senior leadership, recommending reprioritization, investment shifts, or sunset decisions as needed.
• Provide full lifecycle oversight of all programs and projects within the portfolio, monitoring delivery health across various aspects.
• Accountable for delivery of assigned portion of the PMO savings target under Sr., driving implementation of portfolio-specific savings levers.
• Own portfolio-level financial planning, forecasting, and investment al
location, ensuring financial discipline and compliance with standards.
• Provide strategic oversight and coaching to Program and Project Managers, ensuring adherence to PMO methodologies and quality standards.
• Establish and maintain portfolio-level risk governance and escalation protocols, monitoring adoption metrics and benefits realization post-implementation.
**Qualifications Required:**
- Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or regulated environments preferred.
• Demonstrated accountability for financial performance and cost optimization targets.
• Advanced portfolio management methodologies knowledge (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
• Financial acumen with a strong ROI and cost optimization focus.
• Risk and governance framework expertise.
• Working experience with Planview PPM, Jira, and Monday.
