What Youll Be Doing (Position Summary):
The Credit Risk Officer is responsible for coordinating and processing a range of margin and covenant calculations, as well as security and loan processing activities for Small Business and Diversified Independent Business Clients The role ensures the accuracy and completeness of loan documentation, compliance with credit facilities, and delivery of high-quality service to internal business partners.

How Youll Succeed (Responsibilities):
Perform medium to complex margin and covenant calculations and analysis, applying knowledge of financial statements and lending margins.
Identify errors, determine corrective actions, and resolve discrepancies, escalating issues as needed.
Conduct thorough risk assessments of loan accounts, verifying compliance with internal controls and procedures.
Ensure all documentation is maintained accurately and in accordance with credit facilities.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure quality standards, timelines, and service levels are met.
Maintain compliance with all CIBC regulatory training, policies, and governance programs.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Work closely with leaders of supported Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and Lines of Business (LOBs).
COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

AUTHORITIES/DECISION RIGHTS:
As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
JOB DIMENSIONS:
Coordinates and processes a significant volume of margin and covenant calculations, loan documentation, and security processing activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery within established service level agreements.
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, maintain quality standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives, directly contributing to risk management and operational efficiency for Small Business and Diversified Independent Business clients.
Experience: 2+ years of experience.
Who You Are (Skills/Qualifications):
Must Have Skills:
Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered.2+ years of experience in credit risk, loan processing, or banking operations.
Experience with credit processing systems and financial analysis (preferred).
Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and lending margins.
Proficiency in credit processing systems and loan documentation procedures.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Commitment to compliance and risk management best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant operational systems.
