Job description
As a Credit Analyst for Financial Institutions (FI) with a focus on EMEA coverage, your role will involve fundamental credit assessment, transaction support, and ongoing risk monitoring for banks and non-bank financial institutions.
You will be responsible for performing forward-looking credit analysis on FI counterparties, preparing credit memos for limit approvals and renewals, assessing risk-reward dynamics, partnering with Front Office and product teams on live transactions, monitoring portfolio risk, and building sector and macroeconomic insights to support credit decisions.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform forward-looking credit analysis on FI counterparties including banks, NBFCs, insurers, and asset managers.
• Prepare credit memos for limit approvals, renewals, and transaction assessments.
• Assess risk-reward dynamics and highlight key risks and mitigants to stakeholders.
• Partner with Front Office and product teams on live transactions (secured finance, FX, rates, credit products).
• Monitor portfolio risk and ensure timely compliance with internal policies and reporting standards.
• Build sector and macroeconomic insights to support credit decisions.
**Qualification Required:**
- 2-3 years (Analyst) / 3-5 years (Senior Analyst) of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in Financial Institutions credit analysis, with a focus on banks.
• Strong expertise in financial statement analysis and ratio analysis for FIs.
• Hands-on experience in credit memo writing for various purposes.
• Exposure to transaction-based credit assessment and counterparty risk evaluation.
• Ability to independently identify key risks and recommend mitigants.
In addition, preferred skills for this role include exposure to NBFCs, Insurance companies, Asset Managers, or Financial Sponsors, experience covering EMEA region or global FI portfolios, understanding of loan documentation and credit protections, and familiarity with ISDA/CSA frameworks and market risk concepts.
**Educational Qualifications:**
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field is mandatory.
• Professional certifications such as CA / CFA (completed or pursuing) are preferred.
