About the Role
We are seeking a Technical and Equity Research Analyst to research companies listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).
The analyst will focus particularly on:
ASX small-cap and penny stocksHigh-volatility and event-driven opportunitiesIntraday and swing-trading setupsASX company announcements and market catalystsTechnical analysis, price action, volume and VWAPLiquidity, market depth and relative-strength analysis
Experience in derivatives, options, commodities, forex or quantitative research will be considered an advantage.
This is an internal research role.
The analyst will not manage client money, provide public financial advice or directly control any trading account.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse ASX-listed companies using technical and fundamental research.
Monitor price action, trading volume, VWAP, liquidity and bid–offer spreads.
Identify uptrends, downtrends, consolidation and changing market conditions.
Identify support, resistance, breakout, breakdown, pullback and reversal opportunities.
Analyse candlestick formations and chart patterns.
Monitor ASX price-sensitive announcements and assess their likely impact on share prices.
Research catalysts including:Earnings and guidance updatesMajor contractsAcquisitions and asset salesCapital raisings and dilutionDirector and substantial shareholder activityDrilling and exploration resultsResource and reserve upgradesClinical trial and regulatory announcementsQuarterly cash-flow and operational reportsConduct specialised research on ASX small-cap, penny and high-volatility stocks.
Compare stock performance against the ASX 200, relevant sector indices and peer companies.
Monitor Australian and international economic events, commodities, currencies and global markets.
Assess whether sufficient liquidity exists for practical trade entry and exit.
Develop clearly defined:Entry zonesStop-loss and invalidation levelsInitial and extended targetsReward-to-risk ratiosExpected holding periodsPrepare intraday watchlists and weekly swing-trading reports.
Maintain a detailed record of all recommendations, including successful and unsuccessful setups.
Review previous recommendations and identify opportunities to improve the research process.
Assist in developing scanners, screening rules, dashboards and backtesting systems.
Stay informed about ASX regulations, disclosure requirements and major corporate announcements.

At least 1–3 years in technical analysis, equity research, proprietary trading, stockbroking or investment research.
Experience researching international equity markets is preferred.ASX, Canadian, UK or US small-cap market experience would be highly regarded.
Knowledge of options, futures, derivatives, commodities or forex is desirable but not compulsory.
Python, quantitative screening or backtesting experience will be an advantage.CFA, CA, MBA Finance, NISM or technical-analysis qualifications are preferred but not mandatory.
Candidates whose experience is limited to Telegram tips, social-media stock calls or unsupported profit claims will not be considered.
Working Hours
Working hours will broadly align with the Australian market.
The candidate must be comfortable beginning work early in India, generally around:
4:30 am–11:30 am IST during Australian daylight-saving time, or5:30 am–12:30 pm IST outside daylight-saving time.
Some flexibility may be available for post-market research and report preparation.
