Job description
Most investment firms hire people who understand finance.
We are looking for people who understand how the world works.
At BayFort Capital, we invest in the world's most innovative and disruptive listed companies—from Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductors to Quantum computing, Space Exploration, Biotechnology, Digital Health, Drones, EVs, Robotics, Aerospace, and Renewables.
Our edge comes from understanding the science before the market does.
If you like building things, solving difficult engineering problems, publishing research, competing in hackathons, writing code, or simply obsessing over how science is disrupting industries, we want to talk to you.
We don't care whether you've taken a finance course.
We care whether you can think independently.
The Role
You'll work alongside the investment team researching global companies listed primarily in the United States and other markets.
Your job is to answer one question: Which companies will create extraordinary value over the next decade—and why?
That requires an understanding of innovation and disruption at a level deeper than headlines.
Every day you'll read scientific papers, patents, technical documentation, industry research, financial statements, and product roadmaps.
You'll connect engineering with economics, technology with business models, and innovation with addressable markets.
This is NOT a back-office role.
Your research will directly influence investment decisions.
Who Should Apply?
You may be an excellent fit if:
You're a recent graduate (0–2 years) with a Bachelor's in Engineering or a PhD in a STEM discipline.
You have an exceptional academic record.
You genuinely enjoy understanding complex technologies—not because you have to, but because you're curious.
You have built things: engineering projects, research publications, prototypes, open-source software, patents, hardware, machine learning models, robotics, or other technical work.
You naturally ask "why" instead of accepting conventional wisdom.
You enjoy reading technical papers more than social media.
You can simplify complex ideas without oversimplifying them.
You have excellent written communication skills.
You have strong quantitative reasoning and attention to detail.
You are comfortable learning financial concepts quickly, even if you've never studied finance before.
Bonus Points If You Have
Built software or contributed to open-source projects.
Experience with Python, AI tools, data analysis, SQL, or machine learning.
Participated in research, hackathons, Kaggle competitions, or Olympiads.A GitHub profile, published papers, technical blog, or portfolio of engineering work.
What This Job Is Not

This is not a sales role.
This is not day trading.
This is not about watching stock prices all day.
